A Successful Corporate Partnership |
In the early 1990’s, Whalley Computer Associates was contacted by a large corporation located in Eastern Massachusetts and asked to deploy and maintain their desktop and laptop computers. That partnership continues today and Whalley Computer Associates now supports over 10,000 users nationwide and is an integral part of this customer’s IS department.
Overall, Whalley Computer’s responsibilities include:
- Stocking of product to guarantee rapid availability;
- Orders placed by the customer are delivered and installed at the user’s desk within 16 business hours including the transfer of data from their old computer;
- Hardware and software configuration, image loading, and asset tagging;
- Model transition management to ensure sufficient time to create and qualify new images while maintaining adequate stock of current models;
- Warranty break/fix services are provided on-site, free of charge with 2, 4, and 8 hour service level agreements (SLA’s);
In addition to supporting the customer’s desktop clients, Whalley Computer Associates is also a supplier of computer equipment used within this customer’s storage systems. This embedded side of the business requires extensive diagnostic testing to take reliability to the highest level. Part of the process includes a 3-day test in Whalley Computers custom-built hot and cold chamber. The test data is shared with our OEM in Taiwan to make design and manufacturing changes to improve the product.
